Yep, I’ll be the first to admit it. I’m competitive, and I don’t like losing!
I think I’m better than I was, but it has always been a challenge for me to lose well. Most of that has come from the challenge I face in separating the result from my identity.
We all have had to face losing at some point of our lives.
Culture, our past and even our own thoughts can easily punish us. “I lost, so I must be a loser!” “If things were different, then my life would be better!” “They were just luckier than I was!”
It’s tough when that is all that is coming into your head, so let’s have a look at this from a different angle.
Everyone who has succeeded in life has lost at some point. We see the end result, but not the steps it took to get there.
The difference between losing and staying lost often comes down to the fact that those who succeed refuse to wear the name ‘loser’!
There is a big difference between coming away from a loss as a loser, and coming away as a winner-to-be with something to improve – something to change.
How have you faced your losses in life? Regardless how you have lost, you don’t have to be a loser. While ever you keep getting up and moving forward, the race is not over.
While ever you look for positives to apply to your life and grow through, you are a winner. The results may not say you are a winner, but you are winner because you not the same person as before. You have grown.
I am who I am because of Jesus Christ, but I’m far from perfect. I am a child of God who still has to grow. I am a saint who still needs to change.
I don’t have to be afraid of losing, I know who I am, and winning or losing won’t change that!
So, if you call yourself a loser, stop! Don’t wear the wrong tag placed on you by yourself or other people! Sure, you have lost at some point along the way, but you are not a loser!
Look forward, face your challenges and grow! Who know what the future holds!
Bless you guys!
